The Amalinda Lodge, with its impressionable and lingering charm, is steeped in African historical artifacts of a bygone era and is tucked away into an ancient bushman’s shelter. The granite domes and castle kopjes of the Matobo Hills in Matopos, Zimbabwe are among the most majestic rock scenaries in the world. Matopos is a great location for rhino tracking and spotting black eagles in the camp.

Day 3Hwange National Park

Camping Morning Drives Scenic Drive Bird Watching CultureThis day prompts another early start, with a 4-hour road transfer to Hwange at the Khulu bush camp, where you will be able to view local villages and farms along the roadside. Khulu Ivory or “Grandfather of Ivory,” is a lodge which spans an impressive 6,000 acres. A very charming aspect of this lodge, is that it allows guests to experience a sense of luxury, while maintaining a traditional feel and service. The rooms available in the lodge, all overlook an ancient riverbed or ‘vlei,’ which attracts a variety of the wildlife and birdlife in Hwange.

In the afternoon, there will be a talk about the history of the space, during a hosted High Tea. After this, there will be a game drive, another drive within the concession (or demarcated land), and then dinner at the camp. There is also the option for a night drive within the concession (or demarcated land), where you could potentially spot nocturnal wild animals.
