Summary

Because this park is so isolated, it remains one of the most pristine safari experiences available. Its remote, which, to the ardent bush-lover, is its biggest attraction, and the rewards are great indeed. Game is spread out across the plains. In November, with the onset of the rains, the massive herds of blue wildebeest arrive from Angola, traversing the plains in their thousands, very often mingling with zebra along the way or gathering around water holes and pans. This is the second largest Wildebeest migration on Earth! Jackal, serval, wildcat, wild dog as well as lion and hyena are the predators of the area. Many birds migrate here during the rains and massive flocks can be seen as they fly south. The plains are dotted with woodlands which make for excellent birding.

All the way up north is the beautiful Sikale campground, the quietest and most remote site in the park. It's located further away from the boundary than the other campsites and is ideal for a real African bush adventure. The fact that you can be close to herds of thousands of wildebeests in the dry season makes up for the absence of running water and flushing toilets. We will spend three days camping at Sikale, doing game drives, night drives and relaxing in the African bush. (BLD)
