Days 4 to 7 – Kasaka River Lodge, Lower Zambezi National Park The Lower Zambezi National Park lies nestled between an impressive escarpment to the north and the mighty Zambezi River to the South. The escarpment acts as a barrier for the game, keeping it on the plains and in the rich woodland on the bank of the river. The Park is rich in wildlife, with large herds of buffalo, and great elephant viewing available to most visitors. Lions are numerous and leopard sightings common. Kasaka River Lodge is located in the Game Management Area on the Lower Zambezi National Park directly opposite the famed Mana Pools world heritage site in Zimbabwe and offers unusually varied activities such as game drives, walking, canoeing, boating and angling in the company of Africa’s finest guides. The Zambezi River extends the full length of the property which sits in the shade of tamarind trees some 50 ft above the river, affording it outstanding views. Unlike the Luangwa, the Zambezi is navigable and the lodge offers a full variety of water activities alongside their standard walking and driving options: canoeing, walking and, of course, fishing. And for those interested in the rich cultural heritage of the area, community visits can be arranged.
