You will be met at the Entebbe International Airport (depending on your time of arrival) and transferred to your accommodation in Kampala, where you will be able to rest up and prepare for the proper adventure to begin the next day.

Day 2Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Along the way, we shall make a stop at the Equator, where the Southern and Northern Hemisphere meet, for a unique photo opportunity. Then we continue on past the towns of Masaka and Mbarara and drive through the interesting tea estates and beyond the amazing Kalinzu forest, renowned for its chimpanzee population and tracking. After all this is done, we check in at the lodge and wind down for a more relaxing evening.

Within this park, there is also a rich birdlife, particularly so the extensive variety of stork species in the wetland spots, as well as graceful flamingos in the salt lakes. After lunch, we then opt for a classic activity which is the highlight of the day, a 2-hour boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel, a 36km channel linking Lake George to Lake Edward, which has one of the world's largest concentration of hippos and numerous Nile crocodiles. And all of this can be spotted and enjoyed and experienced from the comfort and safety of the boat.

Day 4Chimps trekking with ishasha climbing lions then we transfer to bwindi forest national park

Afterwards, we continue on to the Ishasha Sector located within the Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will then drive off and engage with this vast area of the Savannah, and hopefully be able to spot the lions perched high fig tree branches to escape the heat. When this is done, we then transfer to Bwindi, through the neck of the Impenetrable Forest, to view some mountain Gorillas. The journey takes us through a changing landscape from the savannahs, via cultivated hills, to forest covered mountains. Depending on when we arrive, we could also have the opportunity to do a walkabout, where we can talk and mix with the locals or relax with the Orphans group performers.

We will experience another highlight of the trip, as we will be able to track these fascinating and incredibly intelligent beasts, in groups led by knowledgeable and specialized guides. You will be able to walk through the incredible but overwhelming jungle and possibly spend an hour with the Mountain Gorillas. This Impenetrable Forest is full of birds, butterflies and plant species, as well as forest hogs, elephants, sitatungas and duikers. After the gorilla trek, we then move towards the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi through the stunning cultivated hills. Later in the afternoon, we check in to our accommodation, a lake resort that is 1840m above sea level. Here you can relax and maybe even take a swim in the lake - which is free from bilharzia, hippos and crocodiles - if the temperature permits.

Day 6Transfer to Lake Mburo the ‘Zebra magnet’, game-drive

We will reach Entebbe in the afternoon, which allows enough time for you to arrange or make an evening flight or add an extra night's stay in Entebbe, before flying out the next day.
