On the first day, you will arrive in Nairobi and will be met and greeted by your guide at the airport. You'll then be transferred to Nairobi Serena Hotel, where you will be given a short briefing about the great adventure ahead. It is of utmost importance that you get a good night's rest in preparation for the upcoming days.

We'll fly mid-morning to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The remainder of our luggage is transported by road and arrives just after lunch. After checking into Ashnil Tented Lodge, we'll have some lunch and an orientation will be done. Later in the day, we have our first late afternoon game drive. We'll then return to the lodge for some dinner.

This day will be spent at our wonderfully situated luxury lodge, in the heart of the entire Masai Mara Reserve’s wildlife action. Our lodge is located in the reserve’s low-density visitation area close to the famous zebra/wildebeest migration crossing points of the Mara River. We'll be able to photograph elephants, Cape buffalo, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle, impala, topi, zebra, wildebeest and Coke’s hartebeest. Giraffe, eland, bushbuck, serval and the big cats - lion, cheetah, and leopard - all live permanently within the reserve and are usually easy to see in our area. We capture the range of light from sunrise to sunset and the Mara’s many moods.

After breakfast, we will explore the Mara extensively. Masai Mara is a country of rolling grasslands, dense thickets, and groves of acacia woodland. The Mara is home to the incredible variety of wildlife. A deep forest grows along its tributaries where many hippos and crocodiles bask lazily in the sunlight. Here, you find the largest population of lions in Africa. We'll return to the camp for your dinner and overnight stay.

Today we'll enjoy an early morning game drive and then return to our lodge for a full breakfast. Alternatively, we can spend the day in the park in search of predators and their prey like the Zebra, Wildebeest, and Giraffe. We'll have lunch at one of the nearby lodges or camps. We shall also have an opportunity to see Hippo and Crocodiles found in the Mara River before we head back to the camp for our dinner.

Activities Included

We'll spend another full day in Masai Mara National Park, the jewel in the crown of Kenya tourism. We have a chance to go further afield in this extensive park, flashing out the numerous species that grace this unique game sanctuary. Alternatively, we can use the afternoon to engage in the other activities that are available here such as - bush meals and sundowners, cultural experiences, visit to a local school supported by Land and Life Foundation and Balloon safaris. After our eventful day, we'll return to Sand River Luxury Tented Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Activities Included

After breakfast, the search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus some of Africa’s largest pride of lion, herds of zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. We'll have our dinner and rest Little Governors’ Camp or similar.

Morning and evening game drives will take place today in the Mara. Its one of the richest wildlife spectacular scenery for the annual migration, the Masai Mara wildebeest migration is no considered to be one of the wonders of the world, especially as they cross the Mara River. Once will return to the lodge after our sighting filled day.

Today we will journey overland to Nakuru National Park. The park is a reserve for both black and white rhinos and we should have good opportunities for close-up photography of the whites rhinos. East Africa’s most dense leopard population dwells here, plus Rothschild’s giraffes, Defassa waterbucks, reedbucks, unwary warthogs, and Cape buffalo. We'll enjoy the beautiful African sunset over a lakeshore swath of pink flamingos -this will undoubtedly be the highlight of your photogenic experience on this day!

We'll drive north to the Samburu and the Buffalo Springs Game Reserves where a sizable population of elephants, plus Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, impala, common waterbuck, dik-dik, vervet monkey, hyrax, baboon, and oryx round out the photo subjects. The elephants exhibit a special red color at Samburu from rolling in the reddish mud of the Ewaso Ngiro River. Our impressive Samburu Ashnil Tented camp at river’s edge is a relaxing base for our morning and afternoon game drives to a wide variety of habitats—open plains with Mount Kenya in the distance, narrow lush valleys filled with birds, and towering cliffs where baboons seek refuge at night from prowling leopards.

On this day we'll explore the Samburu National Park. The highlights of the park are the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers, and forests. It is an area where the local people have a rich and colorful heritage. The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro river. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries.

After breakfast, you will spend a full day option in Samburu National park or early morning and afternoon game drives in park, which covers 40 square miles (104 square kilometers). Ololokwe Table Mountain forms a dramatic backdrop to our game viewing. Samburu is also home to the third of Kenya’s giraffe species – the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). This is also where you see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle, and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope.

Activities Included

After breakfast, we'll leave for a half-day game drive. Animals commonly seen are elephants, lions, cheetahs, Gravy’s zebras, Reticulated giraffes, Gerenuks, buffaloes, Onyx, gazelles, Dik-dik and water bucks. We'll then return to the lodge for lunch followed by swimming games and relaxation. At 16:00 pm, we leave for an evening game drive till sunset then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Activities Included

Today you'll enjoy a full day in Samburu Game Reserve, having early morning game drives. We'll then have some lunch at the tented camp, followed by an afternoon relaxing by the mess tent. Thereafter, we'll have afternoon game drives or you could also choose to have nature treks within the campsite, before returning to your luxury camp.

On this day we will fly back to Nairobi in the morning. A day room will be available at Nairobi Serena Hotel for relaxing and showering in preparation for your flight. You will then be transferred to the airport for your homeward flight!
