Day 1Arrival In Accra

Welcome to Ghana! Our friendly company driver and guide will meet you at Kotoka Airport before transferring you to your hotel for a welcome drink, a trip briefing, and a few hours of well-deserved acclimatisation and relaxation.

Day 2Accra - Logba Tota

After breakfast at the hotel, your driver and guide will meet you and start your journey to Logba Tota. Along the way, visit Cedi Beads in Odumasi, where you can take part in a workshop on the making of traditional beads from recycled glass. Finished glass beads may be purchased from the shop on the premises. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant en route to Volta. Once you've arrived in Logba Tota, you'll check into your hotel and visit the community with your guide, who will stay with you throughout your visit. He will introduce you to your host family, lead an orientation tour of the community, and hold an audience with the Chief and Elders of the community for a welcome drumming and dance performance. You'll return to your hotel afterwards for a relaxing dinner under African stars. You will spend your nights at Abraerica Hospitalities hotel, which is located in Amedzofe, a town close to Logba Tota. You will travel to Logba Tota each day by means of local taxis, accompanied by your guide. Your driver will return on the last day of your tour to pick you up and transfer you back to Accra for your departure.

Day 3Welcome to life in Logba Tota

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will meet and take you to the village to meet once more with your host family. Breakfast will always be taken at the hotel before heading into Logba Tota for the day's activities. Activities for today include learning the fundamentals of the local language, more drumming and dancing lessons, and engaging in sporty activities with some of the kids in the community. This is your chance to relax into the rhythm of the community, and opportunity to connect organically with another culture. Enjoy it!

Day 4An Agricultural Education

The activity for today is farming. Join the host family on their farm to learn about their farming methods, the type of crops they cultivate, how they store these crops, and how they irrigate their farms. Test your marketing skills in the agricultural market - learn about good and bad seasons for farming, and track the sales trends of their final produce at the local market.

Day 5Weaving Workshop

The objective today is to learn about the many traditional weaving techniques of the Logba people. Try your hand at weaving traditional kente cloth out of brightly-coloured yarn and baskets out of palm fronds, as well as pottery-making. Amidst these learning experiences, practise speaking the basics of the local language - you are sure to leave Logba Tota with a multitude of linguistic and creative skills! Return to your hotel in the evening for dinner and some rest.

Day 6Cooking Local Cuisine

The activity for today is a series of lessons on preparing and cooking local dishes. You will visit the local market together with your guide and your host family to purchase ingredients needed for the cooking; this is where you will have the chance to hone your bargaining skills with market traders. Upon your return from the market, join in on the preparation of lunch and dinner for the day. The meal will be served to you when it is done, so you'll have a taste of the finished product of your cooking lessons!

Day 7Full day in Amedzofe and Surrounds

The activity for today is touring the community and its surrounding towns. Enjoy a 1.5 hour hike through dense, verdant forest to the spectacular Ote Falls. It is an adventurous trail which ends in a refreshing swim upon reaching the falls. Continue to Liate Wote, a picturesque village nestled in the heart of the Volta Region at the foot of the range of mountains that make up the Ghana/Togo border. Liati Wote is a hidden paradise with over 300 species of butterflies in its forest. The village is the ultimate place to experience rural community life. The friendly local people are always ready to welcome you into their home and their way of life. There are several hiking opportunities, like following a trail through coffee and cocoa fields and untouched forest to the Tagbo Falls; for the more adventurous, there is a 1.5 hour clib to the top of Ghana's highest mountain, Mount Afadjato. At the end of the day, you'll return to your hotel for some well-earned rest and relaxation!

Day 8Amedzofe - Logba Tota - Accra

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will meet and take you to the village to meet your host family for a goodbye and farewell ceremony. Traditional kente clothes and other cultural souvenirs will be gifted to you during this ceremony. The driver will pick you and your guide up by 10AM for your journey back to Accra. Along the way home, pay a visit the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, a small community with a large monkey population - the Sanctuary protects these traditionally sacred creatures from poachers. You'll arrive in Accra by late afternoon, and the driver will drop you off at Kotoka International Airport for check-in and departure. Thank you for travelling with us, and bon voyage!
