Depart to the Central Region to visit the infamous forts, castles and slave dungeons of Ghana, where you will experience the tragic history of the slave trade, the impact of which is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today. Visit the Cape Coast Castle (established by the Swedes in 1643), site of the Museum of West African History. This world-class museum was established by the Smithsonian Institute in collaboration with the Ghanaian government in 1994 to shed light on the dark history of the Atlantic slave trade. Break for lunch at a local restaurant before heading onwards to Elmina Castle, another slave castle established by the Portuguese in 1482. This castle was the first European structure built in Sub-Saharan Africa. Apart from being a significant historical site, Elmina Castle is one of West Africa's prime photography spots, especially at sunset. Carry on to Fort St. Jago, built by the Dutch in 1665 on St. George Hill. It is from this vantage point that the Dutch launched their successful land attack on Elmina Castle in 1637. End off the day with dinner at your resort. You could take a leisurely walk along the beach to see the fisher folk going about their business under the golden reach of a beautiful sunset. Guests may also wish to engage in some of the independent activities organised by the resort, including horse riding, dancing, drumming, and batik design. Don't forget your camera, as the African sunset is truly a spectacle to behold!

The most popular attraction in the forest is the canopy walkway, which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m and hanging 40m above the forest floor. Undertake a 2km walk on the forest floor to discover a wide variety of exotic floral species and their medicinal values, or take the canopy walkway to enjoy an aerial view of the treetops to the choral whispers of the forest birds. After lunch, visit the Posuban Military Shrine, where the Asafo companies, (Fanti traditional soldiers), prepare spiritually for war.
