Safaris are planned very carefully to coincide with when you are most likely to see wildlife. This means early, late afternoon, or even night game drive. If one opts for a morning game drive this equally means an early wake up call. 6:00 am, a continental breakfast is served and at sunrise you head off on your early morning activity of choice. After a few hours, you will return to the lodge either for brunch or to relax before lunch. At 3:30 pm tea and cake is available before you then head out for an afternoon activity. As with early morning, the evening game drive is often the best time to see the wildlife. The predatory animals begin to stir from their heat-of-the-day slumber, and similarly, their prey become ever more active and alert as darkness falls. A night game drive is often the best time to spot the elusive leopard, which more often than not will be high up in a tree. A game drive at night gives you a completely different perspective of the bush and is an unforgettable experience.

Day 3Lower Zambezi Experience

Your Zambian safari guide is an expert in the bush and will point out interesting subjects as if by magic: a flick of a tail here, a curve of an ear there, a movement wherever. If one opts for a game drive in the afternoon, this will depart after high tea and then stop at sunset for sundowners (snacks and a drink, usually a cocktail, of your choice) before an experienced tracker assisting the guide switches on a red filtered spotlight and looking for the nocturnal creatures on a “night drive”. Activities include: Game Drives (Day and Night), Walking Safaris, Boating, Fishing, Canoeing and Cultural visits. 2 Activities are included daily.

Day 4Unwind on the Zambezi River

A cruise on the Zambezi will be a rewarding experience whether early in the morning, later in the morning or afternoon going into evening. There’s always something happening on the river, all the large mammals come to the river to drink and in the case of elephants to simply play in the water. Cruises are always stocked with refreshments of your choice and it’s pleasant to enjoy a sundowner on a sandy island with elephant nearby before switching on the spotlight to search for those bright eyes in the water and on the banks on the way back to the lodge.

Day 5Transfer to airstrip for departure flight

After breakfast you will be assisted for your scheduled flight to Lusaka or Livingstone.
