You will be picked-up from Arusha and driven to Serengeti by road. The name "Serengeti" originates from the Maasai word "Siringitu" which means "Endless Plains". You can see why the Maasai gave it this name as the grassland Savannah stretches to the horizon in the South and is only interrupted by the so-called Kopjes (inselbergs). These Kopjes are bizarre rock formations formed by the weathering of granite outcrops. The plains are the perfect hunting grounds for leopard and other big cats and you will have a good chance to view these magnificent creatures in their natural habitats through the open roof of your safari vehicle. In the afternoon, you will reach your destination for the day; the Seronera Valley. You will stay in Tumbili public campsite enjoying a good meal in the middle of the African bush and settle in for the night.

Activities Included

After breakfast you will check out of camp and take off for a full day game drive through the Serengeti National Park. You will see hundreds of wildebeest and zebra as well as lion and other big cats including the leopard and cheetah in the Seronera Valley. After lunch at a picnic site, you will drive toward the Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight stay at Simba A public campsite. This camp is fabulous due to its located on the top of the crater rim overlooking down the crater. During the summer its have nice sunrise.

After breakfast you will check out and make your way to the crater rim where you will descend into the crater with a pick nick lunch to enjoy later in the day. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely populated African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania's last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its huge population of predators, which include lion, hyena, jackal, cheetah and the ever-elusive leopard. During your game drive will stop and enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor. Later in the afternoon you will ascend back up the crater and drive back to Arusha town. This is where your safari will end.
