Summary
On this seven-day adventure, Tanzania’s winter months lead us to the southern part of the magnificent southern and central parts of Serengeti as we track Nature’s most spectacular annual ritual, the Great Migration. Nothing compares with this, and our daily programme will be adjusted if necessary to ensure that we see the animals at their very best, at their most numerous. From Arusha, our spectacular adventure takes us first to Lake Manyara, in itself a great wildlife destination, before we continue to Ndutu and then Serengeti National Park. As the migration is the highlight of the trip, we will focus strongly in these two locations on this aspect of Tanzania’s wildlife, with expert explanations from your driver-guide. The world’s biggest movement of animals is often the highlight of people’s lives, never mind the highlight of their safari! After absorbing all the excitement that Serengeti’s wildlife can provide, we change scenery to visit stunning Ngorongoro crater, another incredible but totally different venue for the breathtaking animals of Tanzania. You will take away enough memories to last a lifetime.

First, there's the volcanic caldera (the world's largest), full of grassland, forest and swamp, a setting of jaw-dropping beauty. Here you'll find many of the reasons you chose to come on safari: elephant, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, wallowing hippo, waterbuck, baboons… even the rare black rhino finds shelter here. Sharing this awesome space with the animals are the Maasai, grazing their cattle in an area which has been a separate conservation area since 1956 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978.
