Day-by-day Description
Day 1Arrival Windhoek City
After an early pick from hotel we will travel to Okahandja to visit the Herero graves and Kavango woodcarver's market, after we continue via Otjiwarongo and Otavi to Tsumeb, in Tsumeb we visit a Cultural Village for an insight into the rural life of Namibian tribes and a visit to the Tsumeb Museum. Overnight at Makalani Hotel or a similar Hotel, in Tsumub.
Day 2Treesleeper Camp near Tsintsab
Have breakfast in the morning and after depart to Treesleeper Camp near Tsintsabis, home to the two Bushmen tribes. You will be able to experience their traditional hunting and gathering lifestyle. Overnight at Sachsenheim Guest Farm, enjoy traditional meals with these locals.
Day 3Tsumeb to Ovamboland
Travel north to Ovamboland, the most densely populated region of Namibia. Visit the Nakambale Museum at Olukondo, a former Finnish Mission station. Continue to Ngonga homestead and observe demonstrations on wheat-crushing, basket-weaving, hair-plaiting, traditional dancing and music. After enjoying a traditional lunch, we continue to Ongwediva and our base for the night: Benny’s Entertainment Park or the Etuna Guest House.
Day 4Ovambo land to Opuwo
Have an early breakfast as we will be having an early start takes us through western Ovamboland, a landscape of flat, sandy plains, and Savannah grassland, dotted with Makalani palms. Continue to Opuwo via Ruacana. Overnight at Opuwo Country Lodge together with a traditional meal is served at the lodge.
Day 5Village Tour in Opuwo
We will have a hearty breakfast at the lodge and today we will visit a typical Himba settlement to experience the daily life of this nomadic tribe, have time to sit and listen to them and they illustrate their daily living in the modern days as it was in the early 18th century.
Day 6Etosha national Park
We enter the Etosha National Park this morning. The park is famous for its concentration of wildlife around its waterholes. Passing through the Western gate, we travel to Okaukuejo, via the many waterholes dotted along the way. The western part of Etosha is only entered by Namibian registered tour operators with a special permit and is therefore off limits to individual travellers.
Day 7Etosha National Park to Windhoek City
Have breakfast in the morning, we are prepared for a short safari game drive and after we then depart for Windhoek have the last spot of the Big five in this morning game drive before we return to Windhoek via Outjo, Otjiwarongo and Okahandja. We arrive late afternoon in Windhoek. Clients will be dropped off at the airport.
