Day-by-day Description
Day 1Windhoek- Etosha National Park
Depart Windhoek and travel North via Outjo where we enjoy lunch (own account) and onward to Etosha National Park. This afternoon we enjoy the first game drive in our touring vehicle. Just before sunset we leave Etosha again and drive to our luxury safari lodge located outside the Park.
Day 2Etosha National Park
At sunrise, we begin our full day excursion into Etosha National Park with our touring vehicle. Outside of the rainy season, Etosha’s resilient animals are dependent on artificial waterholes and natural springs. After a lunch stop at one of the rest camps within the park (own account) we continue exploring the various waterholes along this enormous saltpan, which forms part of the Kalahari Basin. At sundown, we return to our lodge for a sumptuous dinner under the stars.
Day 3Eastern Etosha
This morning, we head toward Eastern Etosha enjoying another day of amazing animal encounters in our touring vehicle. Of the 114 mammals species found in the Park, several are rare and endangered like the black rhino or the black faced impala. Our guide will also introduce us to the complex subject of managing a game reserve of this magnitude. Upon arrival at our luxury lodge in Eastern Etosha, we are welcomed by a cool, green, tropical oasis nestled among vast indigenous gardens. The name 'Mokuti' means 'in the forest' in the Ovambo language. We are treated to a relaxing evening complimented by mouth-watering cuisine.
Day 4Eastern Etosha - Windhoek
On departure from our desert oasis, we travel south toward Windhoek via the town of Okahandja where we will visit a local handcraft market. Our journey ends on arrival in Windhoek in the late afternoon. Distance travelled today: 495km.
