Summary

Gombe was made famous by British primatologist Jane Goodall, who in 1960 founded a research project that is still in operation today. The matriarch Fifi, the last surviving member of the original community who was only 3 years old when Goodall first arrived at Gombe is still regularly seen by visitors to the park. Each day you will trek into the forest to observe these animated primates at play. You will find the experience both educational and moving, and you will be enthralled by their behaviour and human like traits. You will also get the chance to swim in Lake Tanganyika and observe the colourful cichlids before departing by traditional dhow boat as you make your way back to Kigoma and your flight to Arusha Safari Highlights ♦Gombe Stream National Park Site of Jane Goodall's 50 year research on Chimpanzees Visit historical Ujiji Town and Dr Livingstone Memorial.
