Summary
Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort is not only home to our resident giraffe, waterbuck and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys, but it is also a night stop for the hippos when they leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on our expansive lawns.

Day 1Nairobi - Naivasha

Game Walk General Photography Hiking Wildlife PhotographyDepart Nairobi by road to Naivasha, which is a 2 hours’ drive. Arrive at Hell’s Gate National with a game drive with spectacular views of the gorge. The park provides a variety of wildlife, unusual flora and many species of birds and is one of the only two Kenyan Parks where climbing, walking and biking are allowed. Animals seen here include Bushbucks, Gazelles, Gnus, Hartebeests, Impalas, Buffaloes, Hyraxes, Zebras, Hyenas, Jackals, Mongooses, Baboons, Monkeys, and Porcupines amongst others. Head to Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge check-in and have lunch then spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying lodge facilities like swimming, horse riding, or playing board games. Canoeing General Photography Wildlife Photography Bird WatchingEarly morning after breakfast check out of the lodge and head to Crescent Island enjoy a short boat ride with a beautiful sight of various animals and different species of birds. The lake also has a lot of hippos which you can easily spot from the Island. After the boat ride you will drive back to Nairobi and drop off will be at your preferred destination.
