We'll rise early for breakfast in the bush before beginning our first adventure in Murchison Falls National Park. In the open savannah, keep an eye out for big cats, hyena, and local fauna like the Ugandan kob. Bird-lovers should look out for the magnificent martial eagle (Africa's biggest eagle), as well as the jewel-coloured carmine and swallow-tailed bee-eaters. In the afternoon, we'll board a riverboat for a ride up the Nile, towards Murchison Falls, from which the park derives its name. With some luck and gumption, we might spot these highly intelligent and social animals at play in their natural habitat. After lunch, we'll proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying a game drive on our way in. Queen Elizabeth NP is Uganda's most popular and scenic game reserve. It stretches from the crater-dotted foothills of the Rwenzori mountains in the north, crawling along the shores of Lake Edward to the remote Ishasha River in the south, incorporating a wide variety of habitats that range from savanna and wetlands and lowland forest.
