This photographic safari offers an intimate experience of Africa's best, from the largest African elephants to exciting close encounters with birds and wild game at modern photography hides. We will visit the Zimanga Private Game Reserve.
This photo safari is hosted by your guides Rory Baker and Alan Nixon and is limited to 5 guests, with maximum 3 guests per guide.

Day-by-day Description
Day 1Transfer from Durban to Zimanga Private Game Reserve
Activities Included
Bird Photography Wildlife Photography Game drive Photo-safariDepart Durban / King Shaka Airport to arrive at Zimanga Private Game reserve in Northern KwaZulu-Natal 3:00pm. After checking in and settling down at the Lodge we prepare for our first sunset drive, private dinner and discussion followed by coffee and drinks on the deck overlooking the game reserve.

Day 2Exploring Zimanga - photo safari game drives and hides
Activities Included
Animal Tracking Bird Photography Cheetah Tracking General Photography Landscape photography Wildlife Photography Game drive Photo-safariDays 2 & 3 & 4 will include photo safari drives and hide sessions on the Zimanga Private Reserve.
Each guest will have the opportunity to spend an overnight session in the Umgodi overnight hide that attracts large mammals (elephant, rhino, lion etc). Each guest will also have the opportunity to spend morning or afternoon sessions in the other bird hides to photograph some of the 400 bird species. Photo safari drives will be in search of wild dogs, cheetah and lions amongst many other species on the reserve.
Depending on weather conditions we will have the opportunity to do sunrises, sunsets and astro-photography sessions.
Time will also be allocated for selection and post processing of photos. Rory and Alan will assist with post processing tips and discussions on photography.
Schedules may change slightly depending on weather.

Day 5Exploring Zimanga in the morning then back to Durban
Activities Included

The journey back to Durban commences around mid-day with a stop along the way for lunch and a final discussion. We will arrive back in Durban at approximately 4:00pm.
