Summary
Nyungwe National Park lies in southwest Rwanda, partly abutting the Burundi border. This vast area of mountain rainforest is home to many species of chimpanzees, plus the owl-faced and colobus monkeys. The Canopy Walkway, part of the Igishigishigi Trail, is a high suspension bridge with views over the valley and surrounding forests. A trail runs to the Kamiranzovu Marsh, with its birdlife, orchids and waterfall. Please note that this tour is not for solo travellers, and that travellers must be at least fifteen years of age. Day 1Kigali - Nyungwe Forest National Park

Your friendly and professional safari guide will meet you either upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or at your Kigali hotel, and drive you straight to Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route, you will visit Nyanza, home of the former Mwami’s (King’s) Palace, as well as the National Museum at Butare - one the finest ethnographic museums in East Africa. After lunch, you will continue driving south to the Nyungwe Forest National Park, where you will have the chance to see a variety of wildlife living in the forest. Later in the evening, you will check-in at the Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel for dinner and turn in for the night.

This time will also increase your chances of encountering other animals and bird species in the park. In the afternoon, you will return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, you will take off on a panoramic canopy walk, where you'll be able to marvel at the different animal species and beautiful landscapes. Dinner will be back at Nyungwe Top View Hotel.

Day 3Return to Kigali
