Summary

You’ll have 14 magnificent days to explore, starting off in Windhoek, Namibia one of the smallest and cleanest capital cities in the world where you can treat yourself to the famous locally brewed beer, the Windhoek Lager. Admire the sunset at Fish River Canyon, journey over the Namib desert with its splendid red dunes and go on safari in Etosha National Park. End your tour in the bustling and sophisticated city of Cape Town, nestled between mountains, beaches and Winelands, Cape Town is home to one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature and one of the most widely recognized mountains in the world. Flat as a table on top, and often with a tablecloth of cloud, it remains one of the most exquisite views to behold at the southern end of Africa. The city’s architecture traces the influence of Dutch and English occupants, alongside settlers from France, Germany and the East. Cape Town is also home to the South African Parliament and a host of outstanding museums, the South African National Gallery and the National Library of South Africa. A mix of Cape Town’s city streets and exploring Namibia’s vast desert landscape shows you the variety this captivating region offers, with lion, elephant and rhino roaming in the wilder parts and national parks.

This tour gives you several nights of camping under the African sky and transport in an Adventure Overland Safari Vehicle (fitted with 20 luxury seats), which will ensure that you’ll get an unforgettable camping experience in Africa. With time to explore on your own and optional activities including hikes and skydiving, you’ll soak up the beauty and diversity of Southern Africa.

Explore Windhoek during the day and meet your group and your Tour Leader in the evening at 18:00 to get acquainted and review your trip details. Windhoek is a tiny capital town but with loads of interesting things to offer. One of the most famous is the display of 33 meteorites, the Gibeon Meteorites in the Post Street Mall. Here you can take pictures of and touch these extra-terrestrial bodies that are corrosive resistant due to the high amount of nickel in them. Shopping opportunities abound and for the historically inclined there are many museums and historical buildings within walking distance in the town centre. Etosha is home to more than 100 species of mammals including the endangered black rhino, and with pelicans, flamingos and many other bird species flocking to its salt pans in the rainy season, it’s a birdwatcher’s paradise. Animals often cluster around the watering holes close to the campsites and this offers you the unique opportunity to sit and wait for the animals to come to you. These fenced watering holes have seating areas and are perfectly safe.
