On this first day, you will move from Luanda and head east into the interior. Along the way, we will stop for a coffee break in a local café and get a first impression of the country and its people in this space. There will also be a visit to the Botanical Garden (Rosas de Porcelana) in Ndalatando, which will bring you closer to the beautiful biodiversity of the country. A delicious authentic local lunch awaits you afterwards. From there, we will then make our way to Cacuso, where we will visit a regional training initiative and learn more about the everyday life of the locals, as well as get to know the young people personally. Our next destination is the stunning Pedras Negras of Pungo Andongo. These "black stones" marks the historical location in which the past queen of Angola, Rainha Ginga maintained resistance against the Portuguese conqueror, and you will be able to learn more about this legend, as well as explore the sight extensively. Once all this excitement has concluded, we will return to the accommodation, where you will be able to rest up before your tasty dinner is served and we turn in for the evening.

Today, we start off early to see the Cataratas de Musseleje (waterfall), as this is the best time to visit. While at the site, you will have the opportunity to observe some of the wild animals of the area such as giraffes, elephants, zebras, wildebeest and many others, as they come to drink by the river. The Cangandala National Park was founded to protect the giant sable antelope, the heraldic animal of Angola which is native only in this region and was previously considered extinct. The remaining population is today estimated at 200 to 400 animals, and we will be able to view the remaining of these majestic animals. After a traditional delicious lunch in Malanje, the capital of the homonymous region, we will head back to Luanda and mark the end of our tour.
