Day 1THABA-BOSIU AND KOME

General Photography Hiking Landscape photography CultureOn arrival the group immediately jumps into the bus and heads to Kome Cave dwellings built in the 19th century and still lived in by the cannibal descendants. The caves have been carefully restored and a visitor’s Centre has been attached to the site. They have been declared a National Heritage site. The journey then continues to Thaba-Bosiu, this is where Basotho nation was born. The name Thaba Bosiu means the ‘Mountain at Night’. This is where you will get a cultural and heritage experience. Day 2SEMONKONG- MALETSUNYANE FALLS

General Photography Hiking Horse riding Landscape photography Sailing CultureAfter breakfast, the team proceeds to Semonkong known as ‘The Place of Smoke’. The place boasts the spectacular Maletsunyane Falls which thunder from a height of 206m, as one of the highest single drop waterfalls in Africa. The journey will explored through the rugged mountains of Lesotho with experienced guides via Roma for bird watching and Ramabanta to see the cultural village. On their arrival, we will enjoy the mouth-watering lunch at Semonkong Lodge before they take a tour to the waterfall. Basotho ponies will be on standby for those who would prefer to pony trek to Maletsunyane falls along the rugged terrain. The group will have a chance to hike to the bottom of the waterfall where swimming and Trout fishing can be enjoyed. Trout will be grilled and served on the braai evening back in Maseru the same night. Day 3MOHALE DAM

Boat Cruise Fishing Hiking Horse riding CultureA hearty breakfast at the lodge and then series of outdoor adventures starts where the group embarks on an road experience through the highlands of Lesotho to travel to Mohale Dam, part of the Lesotho Highlands water project. Frequent stops en route to allow for photographs to be taken of this spectacular landscape and mountain passes. On arrival a dam tour will be embarked and the boat will be ready to take those who would love to experience a trip over Lesotho’s fresh and cleanest waters. HIGHLIGHTS OF MOHALE • Tour of the Interpretive Centre. • Boating (Optional) • Visit to a local village for a journey through the evolution of architecture and life in rural Lesotho. • Pony trekking (Optional) • Fishing
Day 4MORIJA (HALF DAY)
The tour will finish off by visiting Morija, named after the biblical Mt. Moriah. Morija has maintained the magic that first attracted the missionaries. It is the only forested village in Lesotho, with every road lined with trees, some of which dating back more than a century. Hidden between the trees is the historic ‘mother church’, as well as the schools, the printing works, the hospital, the museum and other institutions established by the missionaries.
